UPCOMING EVENTS

Welcome to the DGA

England's home for disabled golfers with a community spirit to improve mental wellbeing.

I am proud to be a Patron/Ambassador of the Disabled Golf Association, a Charity run solely by disabled volunteers hosting golf events all over England. Helping disabled people to enjoy golf for exercise, fresh air, social and enriching lives.

DGA Patron Mark James

We are a volunteer national charity originally founded in 2010, we aim to get disabled people into the fresh air to help with their mental health, well-being, and social enrichment whilst navigating beautiful golf courses around England.”

DGA has a group of 12 elected volunteer trustees of which I am the present chairman, ably assisted by my vice-chair Lesley Bain. We are a pan-disability organization with members having handicaps ranging from single figures to a maximum of 54, so whether you have a visible disability or one of the many invisible disabilities you are welcome one and all, we can promise you a warm welcome where you can make new friends in a cordial atmosphere. Our present cost is very reasonable at £20.00 annual membership with £45.00 costs at each event to include bacon/egg roll (although this is not always possible as some golf clubs visited don’t open their kitchens until brunch should this be the case notifications will be in the newsletter) followed by 18 holes of golf, carts are available to non-walkers, this is followed by a one-course meal and winners presentation with photographs.

Each year the DGA runs around 50 events nationwide which run from March to October as a member you are automatically entered into our order of merit, scoring points at each event with your best ten to count you are able to monitor your progress on our www.masterscoreboard.co.uk where all the events are listed, and members can book onto them. The only way we can support our members is with the financial support of others. We are also always looking for new people and companies to become involved or ultimately sponsor us. We remain very grateful to our existing sponsors & partners for their continued support’ who can be viewed on About Us & Partnership page.

Please feel free to contact us if you would like to join us, sponsor us, or just have a coffee with us.

See you all on a course near you.

Neil Baird

Chairman

As a leading charity introducing disabled people into golf it is imperative that we have sustainable pathways and reputable partners to refer these people into so they can continue their social recreational journey through golf.

We have been partners with the DGA for 12 years and appreciate the integral role the DGA takes in the next chapter of our participant’s journey.

Amazing Experiences

Inspirational testimonies from members of the DGA

I’ve been involved with DGA since 2020 and over the past couple of years I have been arranging and running events in the south west.  Playing within the DGA gives us the opportunity to play a range of different courses across the country and for some a chance to represent England in our international events.

We all have our own disability,  but when playing as group it is forgotten.

Joining the DGA has helped me to renew my passion for the game of golf and meet some truly inspiring people.

Having moved to the South of  England in 2021, it has been a pleasure and a privilege to play so many new different courses and this experience has been made even better because of the friendliness and the camaraderie that exists between DGA members.

Brian embarked on a quest to find a community that resonated with his unique challenges of fighting Perthes Decrease from five to navigating Osteoporosis and a left hand middle finger amputation as life progressed. That’s when he stumbled upon the DGA.

Intrigued, he decided to give it a shot and join their ranks for a game. Little did he know, this decision would alter the course of his life forever and he’s never looked back since.
